Sex Toy Pairings – Wine and Cheese for Your Vulva

There’s an art to pairing food and wine, assembling tastes that complement and bring out the best in each other, taking the dining experience to new heights.  But did you know that the same concept can be applied to sex toys?  For many folks with vulvas, combining clitoral and vaginal stimulation amplifies pleasure exponentially.

Rabbit-style vibrators became popular for their ability to stimulate internally and externally at the same time, but they don’t take into account anatomical variations, or the types of stimulation people prefer on their clitoris/in their vagina.  Toy pairings, on the other hand, allow you to customize both clitoral and vaginal sensations to your exact tastes.  The possible combinations are almost infinite!

I experimented a bit with my rather extensive collection and came up with a few pairings that were intriguing.  I may explore this concept further in the future, since this barely scratches the surfaces of the tens of thousands of combinations I could create.

Intensity

This is the pairing that launched this post.  I had the large end of the Swan Wand in my vagina, and the Eroscillator‘s marshmallowy “soft finger” attachment on my clit, and the combined sensation of these two very powerful toys produced a positively epic orgasm.  The Swan Wand‘s dual motors pulsing and reverberating in tandem with the unique oscillating motion of the Eroscillator can literally rock your world.  The Swan Wand’s 2 inch diameter large end is not for the faint of vagina, but I’m sure the more manageable 1.5 inch small end would do just as well.

It’s Magic

I love the deep, rumbly vibrations of my Magic Wand Rechargeable but the orgasms it brings created a challenge when paired with a dildo.  As my vaginal muscles clenched in delight, my dildo of choice would often become a projectile instead of being where I desperately wanted it.  Enter the Fluke from Hole Punch Toys.  This girthy little vaginal plug stays firmly in my vagina no matter what, making it the ideal companion to the Magic Wand.

Nature Lover

Nobessence Seduction and Leaf Life

Aside from being fun, the aesthetic of this pairing is on point.  The shiny wood of the Nobessence Seduction complements the green Leaf Life vibrator perfectly.  Likewise, the G-spot targeting curve pairs magnificently with focused clitoral vibrations.

The Classics

You really can’t go wrong with a classic.  The Vixskin Mustang is definitely such a toy.  Soft with a firm core, gently curved, not too big and not too small, this dildo has legions of fans for many reasons.  I chose the Mimi Soft to pair with it because it’s another well-loved toy, with vibrations that are deep and thuddy without being overwhelmingly strong.  If you’re looking to treat yourself to a pairing that will never go out of style, this would be an excellent choice.

Good Things Come In Small Packages

BS Atelier Alex and Blush Novelties Aria

Yes, I’m a proud size queen but this pocket-sized pairing packs a punch.  The Alex from BS Atelier is one of my favorite smaller dildos at 6.3 inches long and a slim 1.4 inches in diameter.  Its curve and coronal ridge make it G-spot friendly.  I paired it with the similarly diminutive but potent Aria from Blush Novelties.  This colorful petite pairing would be ideal for travel, or easy to conceal discreetly in a nightstand drawer.

Heavy Metal

Njoy Eleven and Doxy Die cast

On the absolute opposite end of the spectrum, we have this pair of metal behemoths.  The Njoy Eleven, as its name suggests, is 11 inches of stainless steel.  It weighs in at 3 pounds, and is the best option on the market if you’re looking for a dildo that can also be used for self-defense.  The Doxy Die Cast brings big rumbly vibrations in badass-looking package.  The one challenge of this pairing is the amount of sheer weight to be handled…but on the plus side, I can count masturbation as my workout for the day!

All The Squish

If you prefer your sex toys on the softer side, this might be the pairing for you. Goliath is a girthy, textured, front-loaded masterpiece in Tantus’ super soft silicone.  While most vibrators have no give whatsoever, the Iroha Kushi has a soft, pillowy outer layer and a squishy little tip that makes my clit happy.

Cheap Thrills

Quality sex toys are expensive, right?  Not in this case!  With the Gaia Eco from Blush Novelties and the NoFrilldo of your choosing, you can snag a body-safe dildo/vibe pairing for about $36 ($52 if you opt for one of the larger Nofrilldo models).  The Gaia Eco is a surprisingly powerful and rumbly vibe powered by AA batteries.  And Nofrilldos offer a variety of shapes to complement that vibration with the kind of internal stimulation you prefer.

Pedro and the Platypus

To prove that the only limit to sex toy pairings is your imagination, I present this gloriously weird combination. Pedro is a potted cactus dildo, girthy and textured, from the fine folks at Primal Hardwere.  Pedro started out as an April Fool’s joke, but is serious fun.  The Platypus is from the sadly defunct Downunder Toys, making this a rare vintage couple indeed.  But the Platypus’ little tail slides so perfectly under the rim of Pedro’s pot to add some clit stimulation, I just had to share this magic with the world.

Whatever Your Heart Desires

The sky’s the limit, really.  Try pairing your favorite clit vibe with a dildo…but it doesn’t have to stop there!  Add a butt plug.  Try double penetration.  Maybe pair an insertable vibe with something squishy rubbed on your clit to mix things up.  Or perhaps e-stim is something you’d enjoy.  The more you experiment, the more kinds of pleasure you can discover!
